Graduate Lecture’ From Dreams to realities’ with Maxime Durand (Historian), May 25 2016, Amsterdam

The Graduate School of Humanities cordially invites you to the Graduate Lecture ‘From Dreams to Realities: Adapting History in the Assassin’s Creed video game series’ which will be held by Maxime Durand, Assassin’s Creed franchise historian on the 25th of May, from 15:00 – 17:00 h. at room HG 14A-00 (Main building VU Amsterdam, De Boelelaan 1105).

The lecture will be preceded by a workshop from 11:00 – 15:00 h. by Maxime Durand. An invitation for this workshop will be send separately.

The past is a puzzle of which we lost most pieces and miss the art cover. Yet the teams working on Assassin’s Creed have mastered a unique method to interpret it through breathtaking digital environments. From assumed inaccuracies to unnoticeable historical details, the procedure is complex but rewarding with tens of millions of fans. This conference is divided in two parts; a design workshop on historical game conception and a lecture on methods applied at Ubisoft and how we address the issues.

Workshop – 3D scanning, ArcheoLab, Marzo 2016, Torino

– Parte 2 –
